Bouncing back from Beau has been... a journey. A dramatic, wine-fueled, playlist-heavy journey. But thank God for the ride-or-die crew who’ve been dragging me out of the heartbreak haze and straight into the streets of Phoenix, one bar at a time. This past weekend, we kicked things off at Rips, which, let me tell you, is basically the live-action version of “I Love This Bar.” Dive bar charm? Check. Backyard patio magic? Check. A crowd that somehow includes punks, hipsters, country gays, and one guy who looked like he wandered in from a Fleetwood Mac tribute band? Check, check, and hell yes. There’s literally something for everyone, cheap drinks, good music, twinkly lights, and the kind of dance floor where you can cry about your ex and make out with someone cuter in the same song. (Not that I did. But I could have.) The energy? Immaculate. The vibe? Unhinged in the best way. 10/10 will absolutely be back. Preferably in a hotter outfit. And emotionally healed. But either way, see you at Rips.

Was in town from Tucson for a concert on a Monday and decided to try my luck finding karaoke before I headed home. This place did NOT disappoint! Very much catering to an alternative/rock/punk kind of a crowd without feeling like anyone else is excluded. The bartender was a goddamn gem. This bar is the only thing that has ever made me thing "I could move up to Phoenix" You can never beat a 4 PBR Tallboy, in my book.

One of the best bars in phoenix, it's artsy. It's fun, they have great events, and excellent bar staff. There's no food, because it is a BAR, but they have local vendors come out from time to time and they are good. Come check it out!

They do not sell food maybe some chips but no actual food menu items. I love this place it’s such a hidden gem. The staff is always super chill. The beer is always nice and cold ! The atmosphere is always super chill. I have never stayed past 8pm unfortunately so the times I have gone it’s always before all the fun shows start. Looking to go back after 9pm one of these days to see what it’s like. Would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a chill hole in the wall type of bar.

I love Rips. I have been attending goths nights for years. It is my favorite bar and the best music. Rips ripples. I often get home and laugh throughout the week. A very fun bar with the best people and bartenders.

I went for karaoke on a Friday night, and I must say that this is a place for everyone. The vibe is cool, and everyone is accepted! I would most definitely tell everyone that I know to give this little hidden jewel a visit.

This joint is Exactly what I wanted to experience at a small dive bar playing goth & industrial. Awesome drink specials, great music, and no pretentious attitudes!!! I'm an old school professional DJ that recently moved to Phoenix from Denver, CO. Came down on a Thursday night. I've been all over the country and have been to plenty of goth, punk, alternative, etc. nights everywhere since the mid '80s. Bartender was very attentive! Kudos to her (I didn't get her name) for coming up to me to ask if I needed another beer as soon as I finished one. From my experience all over the country, usually I need to wave a bartender down for 15 minutes to get a drink.
